Cancun Suites el Patio is a great place to stay if you are looking for a budget hotel. At these accommodations, you can get rooms for as little as $25 a night, and even a private room is doable if you want you own space. Of course, there are not many rooms in this hotel, so if you want to stay there you must book your stay well in advance.

For a few bucks more, you can stay at Hotel Plaza Kokai, which is more of a traditional type of hotel with over 100 rooms, but there are disadvantages to this location, such as a curfew and the lack of character that is found at Cancun Suites el Patio. However, when other hotels are full, this place may have a room for you.

Typically, you can save money on a hotel in other ways as well. For example, travel during the off-season. Many people like to go to Cancun during spring break and following that season into the summer. However, Cancun is a beautiful and warm place year-round, so you can take advantage of its beaches even in the middle of January.

Another way to save a few bucks is to work through a travel agent. He or she will get a group price for booking multiple rooms in the same hotel, and the savings will be passed on to you. With a travel agent, you can also book the hotel very far in advance. Some hotels are willing to give you a discount for doing so. Booking far in advance, however, can be difficult, as other plans sometimes arise, so understand the hotel's refund policy if you cancel your reservations. Staying in Cancun will not be cheap, but you can help save a few dollars if you follow these tips.
